Shirley Dolby
Shirley Dickson-Dolby was born and raised in Niagara Falls where she attended Loretto Academy and Stamford Collegiate Institute. Her education continued at Toronto University, Niagara College and Brock University. In 1989, Shirley retired as editor of the Niagara Advance in Niagara-on-the-Lake. She continued her newspaper career part-time, working for the Community Life Newspaper and the Grimsby Independent while pursuing her love of painting in watercolour. She has always had a keen interest in gardening and this hobby has in turn inspired many of her original paintings. Shirley is a member of the LPAA and the Pelham Art Association where she attends workshops given by many prominent Canadian artists. Her watercolours can be found in private collections in BC and the USA.
